Takoma Park Small Group
Tuesdays, 6:00PM-8:00PM
We meet on Tuesday nights from 6-8 pm for dinner, evening prayer, and to walk through Matthew's gospel together. All are welcome.
Mt Rainier-Brentwood Small Group
Thursdays, 6:00PM-8:00PM
We will meet on Thursday nights from 6-8 pm for dinner and evening prayer. All are welcome.
Weekly Online Prayer
Morning & Midday Prayer
Join us (and our mother church Incarnation Anglican) for online prayer each week at the following times: Tuesday and Thursday Midday Prayer at Noon and Thursday Men's Morning Prayer at 6:30 am. You can find the Zoom links for these prayer times here.
Low Light Hours
Join Lauren Little for brief offices of mark-making and erasing, held at the edges of the day. It's short, simple, and shaped loosely after Lauds and Compline. Tuesdays from 6:00–6:30am and Thursdays 9:00–9:30pm. Sign up here.
Prayer Nights
We'll have two times to pray and lament together during Lent. The first will be on March 12 at 7 pm at HMC. The other evening will be hosted by Incarnation at Beverley Hills UMC in Alexandria.
Singers for Acapella Sundays
Our next acapella Sunday is March 15 and we are looking for a few people who would be willing to help lead our congregational singing. Contact Anna Yong if you are interested.
After Service Snacks
We are looking for people to help provide after-service snacks on March 22 and 29 and April 12. Contact Elena Benning to volunteer.
Maundy Thursday Agape Meals
We will holding Agape Meals in homes for Maundy Thursday (April 2). Let Katie know if you would be willing to host a few others in your home.
Easter Egg Hunt Organizer

Wild Wonder Summer Camp Registration
Kids between the ages of 7 and 12 are invited to register for Holy Comforter's Wild Wonder Camp which will be held at Cabin John Regional Park in Bethesda, MD from August 10-14. Register here and note that you are with the Incarnation Anglican/Holy Comforter group in the comments section.
Ash Wednesday Service
The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18. We will hold an Ash Wednesday service at 7pm with communion. Children are welcome to come in their PJs.
Ash Wednesday Collage Workshop
This Lent, Lauren Little hosting a virtual collage workshop and retreat as a companion to this season of descent. It is an invitation to practice attention through silence, image, and shared presence. You can learn more and register here.

RILA Virtual Fireside Chat
RILA (Restoration Immigration Legal Aid) is hosting a Virtual Fireside Chat on Wednesday, February 11th at 8pm on Zoom. Staff will give an update on immigration policy and enforcement and how this has affected RILA's work and then answer questions. Kid-Led Presentation of Christ in the Temple
On Sunday, we'll celebrate the Presentation of Christ in the Temple. Bring your candles to be blessed, and parents should check their email to see their kids' roles in the service. Stay afterward for a potluck dinner. Contact Katie with any questions.
Block-out dates
We will soon be making the volunteer schedules for Ash Wednesday (February 18) through April 12 (the Second Sunday of Easter). Please note your away dates in Planning Center.
Volunteers Needed: PG Day Center Meal
Hyattsville Mennonite provides lunch on the last Thursday of every month at the Prince George Plaza Day Center. Their next date is Thursday, Jan. 29 and they've asked if we would help provide or serve the meal. You can sign up to provide meal supplies using this form. Just indicate that you are from Holy Comforter in the comments. If you would like to help serve the meal (arrival by 12:15), contact Lori Zehr at lorireeder@gmail.com or 202-441-6909 (call or text).

Abara Border Encounter
Holy Comforter is invited to join our mother church, Incarnation in visiting their outreach partner, Abara in El Paso, TX on February 16-20. Abara provides care for displaced neighbors on both sides of the border, and educates groups on the realities of migration and the U.S. immigration system. If you’re interested in the trip, reach out to Russell Vick (russell@incarnationanglican.org) and if you are interested in learning more about Abara, talk to Darin and Brendan who visited them a few years ago.

Joint Service
We are having a joint Holy Comforter (CHC) and Incarnation Anglican Church (IAC) service at Hyattsville Mennonite, 5 pm with a potluck afterward.

Helpers needed December 28!
On Sunday, Dec 28, we will hold a joint Sunday service and potluck with our mother church Incarnation Anglican at Hyattsville Mennonite Church (4217 East-West Hwy, Hyattsville). There will be NO service in Virginia that day. You can sign up for the after-service potluck here. We are also seeking helpers to make materials for HC’s Atrium including bookshelves during the potluck. Contact Katie if you are interested in helping.

Carols & Cookies
On December 13 at 6 pm, bring your favorite carol (or poem), cookies to share, and a neighbor who enjoys singing to the Hamlin house. Everyone is welcome.
